Cache-A CEO Reflects on successful launch at NAB
By Phil Ritti – Las Vegas, April 24 2009 – For Cache-A, the 2009 NAB Show was a rousing success. We surpassed even our own goals by introducing not just one but 2 new archive appliances that make archiving of file-based video content truly economical, reliable, accessible, interchangeable and future-proof.
Prime-Cache is a table top model and features Gigbit Ethernet for network connectivity and USB for direct file ingest from outboard storage devices.
Pro-Cache can used as a table top appliance or rack mounted. In addition to GigE and USB, this model includes eSATA, ExpressCard, and SAS ports complemented with a 2TB RAID. (for more information about these products browse the Products tab above)
Our demo stations remained busy virtually the entire show with traffic being bolstered by efforts of our Distributors and Reps including JB&A Distribution, Asia Media Products (AMP) and Laurdan. We were almost inundated by interested customers ranging the gamut from chief engineers, producers, cinematographers, editors to content owners.
Cache-A products were also featured in our solution partners’ booths including a P2 workflow at Panasonic along with NLT; at Square Box Solutions with their CatDV asset management and archive workflow solution; and at Fujifilm, our media partner.
After NAB show hours, the Cache-A product line was prominently displayed at the Final cut Pro Users Group (FCPUG) Super Meet, the Red Users Group event and at ProMax Systems’ Digital Lounge. These events provided a more casual and intimate environment to demo the product and gather ideas for future development.
Thanks to our passionate end user customers, our solutions partners and our channel, we are taking orders at a rapid pace and plan to ship the Prime-Cache by the end of May and the Pro-Cache by the end of June.
